By 2004, Salome had already earned a strong reputation and the growing demand called for expansion. The arrival of a new business partner made it possible to open two additional retail locations — one in Medellín and one in Bogotá — marking the beginning of a nationwide presence.
In 2005, driven by continued growth and the enthusiastic reception of its products, the founders relocated to a larger facility in the Junín neighborhood, where they created jobs for 60 more people. This milestone marked Salome's official evolution from a micro-enterprise to a mid-sized company — a proud step forward in the brand's journey.
Growth and job creation have always gone hand in hand at Salome. By 2007, a new production facility was acquired, restructuring and scaling operations to support a team of over 100 employees — including older workers, people with disabilities, and single mothers. Salome has always believed that building a great brand means building up people too.
With a strong domestic foundation in place, Salome set its sights on the global market. The company joined PROEXPORT COLOMBIA's export training program and completed a full Export Management diploma, laying the groundwork for an international trade division. Salome became one of the first three Colombian companies to export shapewear internationally — a pioneering achievement that put Colombian craftsmanship on the world map.
This global momentum led Salome to participate in two of Latin America's most prestigious fashion events: COLOMBIAMODA and CALI EXPOSHOW, held annually in Medellín and Cali. These platforms opened doors to dozens of international contacts and generated significant export sales, strengthening both the brand and Colombia's broader export economy. Salome has also participated in INEXMODA and COLOMBIATEX, staying ahead of the latest trends in textiles and materials.
In 2011, Salome ventured into a bold new category — butt-lifting jeans — designed to sculpt and enhance the feminine silhouette in a uniquely flattering way. A new production plant was launched, creating over 20 additional jobs. The line was met with outstanding success, celebrated for its variety, originality, and quality.
Today, Salome stands as one of Colombia's most respected shapewear brands, with 36 retail locations across the country's major cities and a team of over 400 employees spanning production, administration, and sales.
This growth has enabled Salome to give back — supporting foundations such as Fides and Teletón Colombia, contributing to the Colombian National Police, providing aid to communities affected by natural disasters, and championing environmental responsibility through waste reduction programs, sustainable water and energy use, and ongoing staff training on environmental best practices. These efforts define Salome as a brand with a deep sense of social responsibility — one that measures success not just in revenue, but in the quality of life it helps create.
Today, Salome's mission remains the same as it was in that small workshop in Cali: to lead the shapewear market with innovation, offer the widest variety of products, exceed quality standards with eco-conscious materials, and deliver the best possible experience to every customer.
